Description

Package No.182 — a set of studies designed to screen the body after a tick bite. Ticks are carriers of borreliosis.

Borreliosis is a systemic infectious disease, manifested by the appearance of annular redness around the bite site, fever, chills, arthritis, meningitis, myocarditis, encephalomyelitis.

This package includes tests for IgM antibodies Borrelia burgdorferi, which appear in the first and second stages of the disease and help diagnose borreliosis before a clinical picture appears; IgG antibodies to Borrelia burgdorferi, which are detected in the second and third stages and indicate a chronic or recurrent course of borreliosis. A clinical blood test is also performed, which can indicate the presence of an infectious process in the body (ESR, leukocyte formula). This package is used for early diagnosis of borreliosis after a tick bite.

When and who needs the test?

Tests are recommended for tick bites, as well as when such symptoms appear after a bite - fever, headache, fatigue.

The onset of symptoms is preceded by walks in the forest or park, especially during spring and summer. Often, at the site of a tick bite, there is an inflammatory reaction on the skin with a characteristic pattern in the form of a target: a red spot at the site of the bite and a red ring around it (erythema annulus). In some cases, erythema does not occur, which complicates the diagnosis.
