Do not make unnecessary emphasis

Show that taking tests is routine, not something exceptional. It's like brushing your teeth before bed — there's nothing special about it.

Understand the child

You are sure to find the right words, for example: "I understand that you are scared, sad, angry that you have to do this. Let's think together about how to help you".
The best support for a child is your understanding of their feelings and confidence in your actions.

Make the visit comfortable

Arrive at the branch earlier, look around the premises. The staff can give you enough time for familiarization and adaptation.
Stay close to the child, calmly comment on everything that interests them.
Take your favorite toy with you.

Encourage the child

Emphasize that the nurse is a friend who helps to stay healthy.
But do not say that the nurse will just look and do nothing — deception will cause additional stress and instill distrust in the child.
During the procedure, stay calm and in a good mood.

Praise the child: he/she is really great!

After the procedure, tell the child how proud you are of him/her.
Share your pride with people important to the child: grandfather, grandmother, etc.
