Description
Borreliosis (Lyme disease) is a polysystemic (simultaneously affecting different organs and systems) infectious disease. Lyme disease is caused by the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi, which is transmitted to humans through tick bites. The human immune system responds to the penetration of the pathogen by synthesizing antibodies.
Determination of IgM antibodies in the patient's blood allows confirming the diagnosis of acute borreliosis.
The test is used for the diagnosis of borreliosis and the differential diagnosis of various infectious diseases.
