2077. Borrelia burgdorferi,IgM antibodies
Description
The test detects specific IgM antibodies produced in response to infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato bacterial complex. The test can diagnose the probable acute stage of Lyme disease.
Important! To confirm a diagnosis of Lyme disease, positive and inconclusive test results must be confirmed by blot analysis Package # 138 (Borrelia burgdorferi, IgG,IgM antibodies, BlotAnalisis).
Important! IgM antibodies can remain positive for a long time and do not always indicate the acute stage of the infection.
When and who needs the test?
Three to four weeks after a probable tick bite.
If you were outdoors (forests, parks) and have the following symptoms:
- fever;
- general malaise;
- fatigue;
- neck pain or stiffness;
- migratory joint or muscle pain;
- memory impairment and difficulty concentrating;
- headache;
- swollen lymph nodes;
- tingling sensation;
- four weeks after receiving a negative test result, if symptoms persist.
