Description
VERACITY Minimum + Fetal Sex is a noninvasive prenatal test that analyzes the risk of trisomies 13, 18, and 21 and determines the presence of the Y chromosome. It is suitable for singleton and twin pregnancies, including those following IVF, donor, and surrogate pregnancies.
The test is available from the 10th week of gestation.
When and who needs the test?
According to Order No. 1437 of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, NIPT (VERACITY) is recommended for pregnant women with an increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities (trisomies 21, 18, 13) in the absence of anatomical abnormalities based on ultrasound.
These cases include:
- Risk of trisomies 21, 18, or 13 within 1:300–1:1000 based on prenatal screening results;
- Elevated nuchal translucency (NT) thickness – above the 95th percentile;
- Abnormalities in first or second trimester biochemical screening;
- Detected markers or structural abnormalities on ultrasound;
- Maternal age 35+ at delivery;
- Family history of chromosomal abnormalities;
- Chromosomal abnormalities in previous pregnancies;
- Inability to perform invasive diagnostics (for medical or personal reasons).
The optimal time to take the test is from the 10th week of pregnancy.
