Description
Levetiracetam is a drug from the group of anticonvulsants. Considering the toxicity of the drug and the duration of its taking, it is very important to choose an effective and at the same time safe dose. The study of drug levels in the blood allows you to adjust the dosage of the drug quickly and effectively.
This test is used to select the dosage for patients who require long-term use of levetiracetam, and in the case of switching to generic drugs (drugs with the same active ingredient, but from a different manufacturer). It is also used for prescribing leveteracetam to pregnant women or children.
When and who needs the test?
To control treatment:
- various forms of epileptic seizures;
- other neurological diseases: autism, anxiety disorders, essential tremor, Tourette's syndrome;
- failure to respond to levetiracetam therapy.
