Description
Cystatin C is a protein involved in the physiological processes of almost all body cells. Cystatin C is excreted from the body by the kidneys, and its levels directly depend on the adequacy of their work. As a result, it is one of the most accurate indicators of pathological changes in the kidneys.
The test is used to diagnose glomerular filtration disorders in the kidneys. It should
be studied in combination with creatinine, urea, urea nitrogen, potassium,
calcium, magnesium and sodium.
