9356. Sirolimus
Important information
*The test is performed at Synevo laboratory in Germany
Description
Sirolimus is an immunosuppressant drug used by patients who have had an organ or tissue transplant. Given the high toxicity of the drug and the need to take it for a long time, it is fundamentally important to select the optimal dose. Determination of the dynamics of the concentration of the drug in the blood allows you to safely adjust the dose.
The assay is used to assess blood levels of sirolimus, adjust doses, and assess treatment efficacy in patients taking the drug after organ transplantation.
When and who needs the test?
- to control the concentration of the drug in the blood (for the selection of an individual dose after operations in transplantation);
- for drug monitoring of the prescribed treatment regimen;
- to adjust the dose of the drug (in the event of side effects, signs of overdose: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, drowsiness, apathy, dizziness, etc.);
- to assess drug interactions while taking drugs from several groups.
