9344. Antinuclear antibodies (ANA, method IFT)
Description
Antinuclear antibodies are a group of antibodies that are produced by the immune system of the human body to the substances of the cell nucleus (therefore the name is antinuclear).
Determination of ANA by this method makes it possible to assess the presence of a full spectrum of antinuclear antibodies and is a screening tool for fatigue, fever, headache, joint damage, jaundice, and itching of the skin.
It is used to diagnose SLE, MCTD, Sjogren's syndrome, autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, polyneuropathy and other diseases.
In the complex, it is advisable to carry out test to determine the level of rheumatoid factor, C-reactive protein, supplement with the determination of specific antibodies to antigens, depending on the clinic.

Diagnostics and differential diagnosis of autoimmune diseases of the connective tissue (especially SLE).
