9341. Tacrolimus
Important information
*The test is performed at Synevo laboratory in Germany
Description
Tacrolimus is a drug from the group of immunosuppressants. It is one of the drugs of choice for patients who have undergone organ or tissue transplantation. Considering the high toxicity of the drug, it is fundamentally important to accurately select the optimal dose. Determining the concentration of the drug in the blood over time allows you to adjust the dosage with high accuracy.
The assay is used to assess blood levels of tacrolimus and adjust dosage in patients taking the drug after organ transplantation.
When and who needs the test?
- to determine the concentration in the blood (when changing the dosage and dosage form of the drug);
- for the selection of an individual dose and its correction (if the patient is suspected of non-compliance with the drug regimen);
- if an overdose of the drug is suspected);
- to monitor the concentration of tacrolimus in the blood after transplantation (to optimize treatment control by dose adjustment (in case of insufficient effectiveness of the drug used;
- in case of symptoms of intoxication and side effects on the background of taking).
