9326. Citrullinated vimentin (MCV), IgG antibodies
Description
Citrullined
vimentin is an amino acid to which antibodies are formed in the case of
rheumatoid arthritis (RA) - an autoimmune disease affecting the joints (pain,
redness, limited mobility, especially in the morning) and other organs. IgG to
citrullinated vimentin appear very early, when other indicators may still be
absent.
The test
is used for early diagnosis and prognosis of RA, differential diagnosis with
other diseases affecting the joints.
In the complex, tests for IgG antibodies to
cyclic citrulline-containing peptide, rheumatoid factor and C-reactive protein
are prescribed.
