Description
Vitamin A is a substance from the group of fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamin A enters the body with food and is deposited in the liver, where it enters the bloodstream and is transported to the tissues as needed. It participates in ensuring the normal functioning of the retina, mucous membranes, skin, promotes the synthesis of hormones, participates in metabolic processes.
This test is prescribed in case of suspected hypovitaminosis (if vision deteriorates in the dark, there is dry skin and cornea, growth retardation) or vitamin A poisoning (vomiting, diarrhea, dry skin and mucous membranes, muscle and bone pain). It is studied in a complex with vitamins E, C, zinc.
