Description
Pancreatic elastasis is a pancreatic enzyme that is actively involved in digestive processes. Since pancreatic elastasis is released only by the pancreas, it is an important diagnostic criterion for the development of pathological processes in this organ.
Assessment of the activity of pancreatic elastasis in the blood is used to diagnose acute pancreatitis and determine exacerbations of chronic pancreatitis.
When and who needs the test?
