Description
Mycoplasma pneumoniae is a widespread bacterium that is a common cause of pneumonia, bronchitis, pharyngitis and tracheitis. Immune cells, after contact with a bacterium, begin to synthesize antibodies to fight it.
Detection of IgM antibodies in the blood indicates the infection of the body with mycoplasma and indicates an acute period of the disease.
The test helps to diagnose the mycoplasma infections and differential diagnosis of respiratory infections. Simultaneously, it is better to determine the levels of two different classes of antibodies to mycoplasma.
