Description
Leptin is a protein synthesized by adipose tissue cells. By mediating communication between adipose tissue and the hypothalamic-pituitary system, it plays a key role in regulating human body weight.
Leptin levels are used to determine the cause of obesity and pathological weight loss, recurrent thrombosis, and to assess the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases in conjunction with other indicators.
