9005. Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE)
Description
ACE is a substance that plays an active role in the regulation of blood pressure. It is produced mainly in the lungs.
Determination of ACE levels is widely used for the diagnosis of pulmonary forms of sarcoidosis (an oncological disease) and for evaluating the effectiveness of antihypertensive therapy with ACE inhibitor medications.
When and who needs the test?

- Evaluation of the effectiveness of drug therapy with ACE inhibitors.
