Description

A biopsy of the ectocervix (anatomical part of the cervix) is to get a particle of organ tissue for further research. Pathological examination of tissues will help determine their condition and identify deviations from the norm in the structure.

The test is used in the diagnosis of cancer of the cervix. It is mandatory to carry out in case of detection of serious pathological changes according to the results of colposcopy or PAP-test.

When and who needs the test?

The test is carried out to assess the risk of pathological changes in the tissue and cells of the cervix (ectocervix).
