Description
Whole exome sequencing (WES) is a comprehensive genetic test based on next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology that covers the analysis of protein-coding regions of the genome (exomes). The test enables the identification of genetic mutations that may be associated with hereditary, rare, or complex diseases.
When and who needs the test?
Whole exome sequencing is recommended for patients with suspected hereditary or genetically determined diseases, particularly in cases of complex or uncertain clinical presentation.
