7017. Karyotyping (blood, second partner, GTG-method)
Important information
*It is issued by a separate order for the second partner when determining the karyotype of the spouses (mandatory registration of the second order of service 7007 for the wife/husband). Blood sampling from spouses for services 7007 and 7017 must be done on the same day.

Description
Karyotyping is the test of the genetic material of human cells that reveals changes in human genes and related pathological changes in the state of the body. When planning a pregnancy, karyotyping will help identify possible problems during pregnancy and provide for violations in the health of the unborn child.
At the same time, it is fundamentally important to carry out karyotyping not only of the expectant mother, but also of the future father. A comprehensive assessment of the genetic material of both partners significantly increases the information content and accuracy of the test.
When and who needs the test?
- male infertility;
- primary amenorrhea;
- habitual miscarriage in the first trimester (2 or more miscarriages);
- the presence of miscarriages of unknown origin in history;
- history of stillbirths;
- history of early infant mortality;
- the birth of children with a chromosomal abnormality (for example, Down syndrome);
- the birth of children with multiple congenital malformations;
- IVF planning;
- unsuccessful IVF attempts;
- prognosis of the health of the unborn child.
