according to the blood collection schedule of the selected laboratory
department.

*The test is taken only at the indicated gestational age – from the 5th to the 11th week
Description
Karyotyping of aborted material is aimed at identifying chromosomal abnormalities, which are the main cause of early pregnancy loss. The study is performed using GTG and FISH analysis between 5 and 11 weeks of pregnancy.
When and who needs the test?
- Women who have had a spontaneous miscarriage or missed abortion between 5 and 11 weeks of pregnancy.
- Couples with a history of recurrent pregnancy loss.
- If a genetic cause for miscarriage is suspected.
- To predict the success of subsequent pregnancies.
- Before planning IVF or invasive prenatal testing.
