Package No. 508 ‘Healthy baby’ includes a set of studies for screening the health of newborns.
It includes an test for the concentration of glucose in the blood serum, a detailed blood test, a test for the concentration of ferritin, the test for the level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D. These indicators are elaborated to diagnose diseases such as diabetes mellitus, iron deficiency and other types of anemia, rickets, infectious diseases, blood diseases (leukemia, hemoblastosis).
This package is recommended for all babies, but especially for those whose mothers had pathologies during pregnancy, the presence of the above diseases in history or in previous children (if not the first pregnancy). If a deviation is found, the child is sent for additional examination to identify the causes and choose a treatment. In parallel, it is advisable to conduct a similar screening of the mother.
