Description
Demodectic mange is a common cause of skin problems (acne, rosacea, hair loss, oily skin). The disease is caused by a microscopic mite – demodex (acne iron). The mite lives on the skin, in the sebaceous glands and hair follicles. If there is a skin lesion in the eyebrow area, there is itching, redness, peeling, swelling in this area.
Studying hair from the eyebrow area under a microscope allows you to identify a tick or its particles on them and establish demodicosis.
When and who needs the test?
- diagnosis of demodicosis;
- differential diagnosis of possible causes of blepharitis;
- control of the effectiveness of treatment of demodicosis.

Preparing for testing of eyebrows
- Do not use decorative cosmetics, personal hygiene products with a high alkali content, various creams, or use topical medications for 3 days before the procedure.
- Do not wash your face with water 24 hours before the test.
