Description
H. pylori antigen detection in feces is a highly sensitive, noninvasive test for confirming or ruling out active Helicobacter pylori infection. The test is widely used for initial diagnosis and for monitoring treatment effectiveness after eradication therapy.
When and who needs the test?
- If close ones are infected with H. pylori.
- If there is a family history of gastric ulcers or malignant neoplasms.
- If the following symptoms are present: a feeling of heaviness or discomfort in the stomach after eating, a feeling of fullness quickly after eating, a burning sensation/pain in the epigastrium (upper abdomen), bloating, nausea.
- If you have been diagnosed with gastritis or gastric ulcers.
- If you have been diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia of unknown etiology.
- During long-term treatment with aspirin or before the use of long-term nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
- After a course of treatment for H. pylori.
