Description
A spermogram is a qualitative and quantitative analysis of a man's semen. Given the fact that almost all organs of the male reproductive system are involved in the formation and excretion of sperm, the spermogram is an objective indicator of the work of the entire human reproductive system.
A spermogram is used to assess fertility before IVF or using the ICSI method, in the diagnosis of infertility, infectious diseases of the genitourinary system, diseases of certain organs of the male reproductive system.
When and who needs the test?
- diagnosis of male infertility, which is formed during prostatitis, varicocele, infections, herbs, hormonal disorders;
- barren marriage (detection of the male factor);
- preparation for IVF, ICSI method;
- assessment of the possible consequences of mumps (in adolescents or adults);
- differential diagnosis of urological diseases (eg prostatitis);
- monitoring the effectiveness of treatment;
- monitoring the effectiveness of the ongoing vasectomy.

- Before sampling keep from ejaculation for at least 48 hours and no more than 5 days.
- For 5 days before collecting biomaterial, do not consume alcohol, including beer, medications (hormonal, sleeping pills, sedatives), spicy and fatty foods, do not smoke.
