Description
A urogenital smear is a test to assess the state of the microflora in the vagina, urethra and the cervix. The test is to identify inflammatory processes in the organs of the genitourinary system and determine the cause of their occurrence.
It is prescribed in case of suspicion of infectious diseases of the genitourinary system, to monitor the effectiveness of treatment, planned during pregnancy.
When and who needs the test?

Preparing for urogenital sampling
Women
- Collection of material should be carried out before the start of treatment with antibacterial/antimycotic drugs (general and local).
- In case of treatment monitoring – 14 days after completion of the course of treatment with antibacterial/antimycotic drugs.
- Avoid sexual intercourse for 3 days.
