Description
A comprehensive laboratory test combining PCR diagnostics of major sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and bacteriological culture of urogenital material with antibiotic susceptibility testing.
The study allows detection of the pathogens causing chlamydia, gonorrhea, mycoplasmosis, gardnerellosis, trichomoniasis, and other infections. If microflora is detected, an antibiotic susceptibility test with MIC (minimal inhibitory concentration) is performed to select effective treatment.
When and who needs the test?
- for patients with symptoms of genitourinary infections (burning, itching, abnormal discharge, pain during urination or sexual intercourse);
- in cases of infertility, recurrent miscarriage, or pregnancy complications;
- during pregnancy planning, IVF, or before surgical procedures;
- in cases of suspected STIs or contact with an infected partner;
- for monitoring treatment effectiveness after therapy of urogenital infections.
Biological material
- Various types of biological material depending on the test
- Scrapes from various sites depending on the test
Preparing for urogenital sampling
Bacterial culturing for microflora + antibioticogram (for men)
- Keep from ejaculation for 3 days before sampling.
- Keep from urinating for 3 hours.
- The biomaterial is sampled before the start of treatment with antibacterial, immunobiological, antifungal drugs.
- In case of the treatment control (after the end...
