Description
Real-time PCR testing for bacterial vaginosis (BV) allows for the accurate detection of pathogens that cause vaginal dysbiosis and abnormal discharge. This is one of the most common conditions in women of reproductive age, often asymptomatic but potentially leading to complications.
When and who needs the test?
- Women with abnormal vaginal discharge, itching, and burning.
- For recurrent bacterial vaginosis (relapses).
- Before gynecological procedures, IUDs, and invasive procedures.
- When planning a pregnancy or preparing for IVF.
- To monitor the effectiveness of bacterial vaginosis treatment.
