3356. PCR. Hepatitis B (blood, Abbott, quantification, Real-time)
Description
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is transmitted by parenteral, sexual and vertical (from mother to child) routes. Once in the body, it provokes the development of hepatitis B.

The test is widely used for diagnosing and differentiating between hepatitis, determining the stage of the disease and evaluating the effectiveness of antiviral treatment. It should be combined with the determination of virus antigens and antibodies to them.
When and who needs the test?
- recommended for assessing the reproduction of the hepatitis B virus in chronic or asymptomatic course of the disease;
- to identify carriers of viral hepatitis B, latent and mutant strains of hepatitis B virus;
- to evaluate the effectiveness of antiviral therapy for hepatitis B and decide on further treatment tactics.
