Description
PCR testing for Neisseria gonorrhoeae from endometrial swabs is a highly sensitive method for diagnosing gonorrhea in the endometrium. It is recommended for chronic endometritis, infertility, miscarriage, or recurrent STIs when other samples are negative.
When and who needs the test?
- Women with chronic or unexplained endometritis.
- In cases of habitual miscarriage or recurrent STIs.
- In cases of unexplained infertility, especially before ART (IVF/ICSI).
- Patients with negative lower genital tract samples despite persistent symptoms or inflammation.
