Description
The service enables the detection of herpes viruses types 1, 2, and 3, cytomegalovirus, syphilis, gram-negative bacteria Haemophilus ducreyi, and chlamydial (venereal) lymphogranuloma in a urethral/genital swab. Qualitative PCR testing allows for the identification of the pathogen's genetic material and confirmation of its presence.
When and who needs the test?
- Herpes on the lips, genitals, or other areas of the body.
- Suspected latent infection: symptoms such as pain, itching, or blisters;
nonspecific symptoms.
- Pregnancy – suspected herpes reactivation in a pregnant woman, as herpes can be transmitted to the baby during childbirth.
- Sexually active individuals (pain, ulcers, or abscesses on the genital area).
- Suspected bacterial infections in the absence of a clear diagnosis during routine examination.
- Suspected infection in immunocompromised individuals (patients with HIV/AIDS, organ transplant recipients); enlarged and painful lymph nodes (especially in the groin area); genital ulcers, which may be painless.
- Suspected latent or hidden stage of syphilis, especially in the absence of visible signs of infection. Skin rashes or blisters that may be caused by chickenpox or shingles.
