Description
Epstein-Barr virus is an infectious agent that is transmitted with blood, saliva, tears, urine, semen, nasal secretions, and other biological fluids. The virus can cross the blood-brain barrier and infect nerve tissue.
Quantitative determination of the genetic material of the virus in the cerebrospinal fluid allows us to confirm the spread of the infectious process to the central nervous system and indirectly determine its activity.
