Description
Chlamydia trachomatis is a common STI that often causes no symptoms but can lead to dangerous complications. Urine PCR testing is a non-invasive and accurate method for detecting the infection at an early stage.
When and who needs the test?
- If symptoms of urogenital infection (dysuria, discharge, pain) are present.
- For men, for initial screening.
- For sexual partners of individuals with confirmed chlamydia.
- During pregnancy planning and preparation for IVF.
- As an alternative to urogenital swab testing in women.
- For treatment monitoring (no earlier than 3 weeks after completion of therapy).
