Description

PCR testing for Chlamydia trachomatis in prostate fluid is a highly sensitive method for diagnosing infectious prostatitis. It allows for the detection of pathogen DNA directly in prostate tissue, even in chronic or asymptomatic cases.

When and who needs the test?

  • Men with symptoms of chronic prostatitis or pelvic pain.
  • In cases of unexplained urinary or ejaculatory disorders.
  • In cases of negative urine or smear PCR results, but persistent symptoms.
  • In patients with secondary infertility or inflammatory changes in the spermogram.
  • To monitor the effectiveness of treatment for urogenital infections.

  • The material should be collected before the start of treatment with antibacterial/antimycotic drugs (general and local).
  • In the case of control treatment – after the end of the course of antibacterial/antimycotic drugs after 14 days.
