Description
PCR testing of semen for Chlamydia trachomatis allows detection of the pathogen's DNA in cases of urethritis, epididymitis, or male infertility. This test is essential for a comprehensive assessment of infectious factors affecting fertility.
When and who needs the test?
- Men with suspected infectious infertility.
- In case of sperm abnormalities (oligospermia, asthenospermia, teratospermia).
- Before IVF/ICSI or sperm donation.
- For chronic pain in the scrotum, pelvis, or prostate.
- As an additional test after a negative urine or urogenital swab PCR result.

- The material should be collected before the start of treatment with antibacterial/antimycotic drugs (general and local).
