Description
HPV (human papillomavirus) is a virus from the papillomavirus family that is tropic to skin cells and mucous membranes. Among human papillomaviruses, many genotypes are distinguished, 15 of which are considered highly oncogenic (can provoke the development of cancer).
Quantification of these virus genotypes makes it possible to assess the risk of developing HPV-associated oncological diseases in a patient, and genotyping to determine the virus genotype with high accuracy, which is important for choosing the right treatment tactics.
