3022. PCR. Candida albicans (u/g scraping, qualitative determination)
Description
Candidiasis is a very common disease of the genitourinary system. Candida albicans is considered one of the main etiological factors in the development of candidiasis.
Detection of the genetic material of Candida albicans fungi in the material of urogenital scrapings using PCR allows diagnosing candidiasis caused by them and correcting its treatment.
The test is best done in conjunction with diagnostic tests aimed at finding other sexually transmitted infectious diseases.
When and who needs the test?
- exclusion of Candida albicans in the development of urogenital diseases;
- diagnosis of urogenital candidiasis;
- evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment;
- determination of the diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis;
- exclusion of Candida albicans pathogens as a concomitant infection in the presence of a PID clinic, cervicitis (women), epididymitis, orchitis (men), infertility.

- Collection of material should be carried out before the start of treatment with antibacterial/antimycotic drugs (general and local).
- In case of treatment monitoring – 14 days after completion of the course of treatment with antibacterial/antimycotic drugs.
