Description
Gardnerella vaginalis is an opportunistic bacterium that is normally present on the mucous membranes of the vagina in small quantities. With a significant increase in the amount of gardnerella, a woman develops gardnerellosis (manifested by a fishy smell from the vagina, itching, and atypical discharge).
Qualitative determination of Gardnerella vaginalis in urogenital scraping allows you to confirm its presence in the body and indirectly estimate its amount.
