Description
Ureaplasma species is a pathogen capable of provoking inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system. Qualitative determination of the genetic material of ureaplasma in the urogenital scraping is to confirm the infection of a person with a lesion of the genitourinary tract.
The test is used to establish the diagnosis of ureaplasmosis and its differential diagnosis with other infectious diseases.
When and who needs the test?
- exclusion of U. urealyticum / parvum as the cause of the clinic of non-gonococcal urethritis, prostatitis, orchiepididymitis (in men), colpitis, endocervicitis, vulvovaginitis (in women), cystitis, Reiter's disease;
- exclusion of U. urealyticum/parvum as concomitant infection in the presence of STIs;
- with infertility, PID, pregnancy complications (spontaneous abortion, premature birth.
