Description

A PCR test for Mycoplasma hominis in urogenital tract swabs allows for the accurate detection of the pathogen's DNA. This method is used to diagnose infections associated with cervicitis, urethritis, infertility, chronic inflammation, and suspected STIs.

When and who needs the test?

  • If there are symptoms of a urogenital infection (discharge, itching, dysuria, pain).
  • For chronic or recurrent pelvic inflammatory diseases.
  • For couples with infertility or before IVF.
  • If an STI is suspected or for testing sexual partners.
  • To clarify the etiology of a negative smear/PCR test for other pathogens.

  • Collection of material should be carried out before the start of treatment with antibacterial/antimycotic drugs (general and local).
