Description
Mycoplasma genitalium is a sexually transmitted pathogen that causes inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract.
Identification of the genetic material of mycoplasma in the urogenital scraping allows us to confirm the fact of infection of the body with damage to the organs of the urinary system.
The test can be used to diagnose mycoplasmosis. It is the basic test in the differential diagnosis of sexually transmitted diseases.
When and who needs the test?
- exclusion of M. genitalium as the cause of the clinic of cervicitis, salpingitis, endometritis (women), epididymitis (men), urethritis, proctitis;
- exclusion of M. genitalium in all cases of infertility (men and women);
- in combination with other representatives of STIs.
