2456. Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), IgM antibodies
Description
Antibodies, or immunoglobulins, are special proteins that the immune system produces in response to the ingress of any infectious agent, including CoV-2, into the human body, even if there were no clear signs of the disease. An IgM (immunoglobulin M) antibody test allows you to establish a recent infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and confirm the acute phase of the infection.
It is advisable to determine IgM antibodies from the 7th day from the onset of the disease.
When and who needs the test?
