Description

Package No. 504 ‘Aldosterone-renin ratio’ is a set of laboratory tests necessary to assess the balance of hormones that regulate blood pressure.

Aldosterone-renin ratio (ARC) is a coefficient that reflects the functioning of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. It is prescribed as a laboratory screening test for the detection of primary hyperaldosteronism (PHA). It is diagnostically more significant than the definition of individual markers.

The clinical significance of primary hyperaldosteronism leads to higher risks of cardiovascular disease and mortality, in contrast to the same degree of increase in blood pressure in essential hypertension.

Timely diagnosis and treatment of primary hyperaldosteronism will improve the quality of life and reduce the incidence of complications.

When and who needs the test?

Diagnosis of hyperaldosteronism is a newly diagnosed tumor or hyperplasia of the adrenal glands.

Differential diagnosis of arterial hypertension, difficult to respond to traditional antihypertensive therapy.
