This comprehensive panel is designed to identify potential trigger allergens when an allergic cause is suspected for clinical symptoms affecting the respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, or skin in children.

The selection of allergens for this panel is based on data from the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) on the prevalence of sensitization to individual allergens and the significance of various allergens as triggers of allergic reactions. The results provide a separate result for each allergen. This panel helps the physician confirm the diagnosis and, when allergy is suspected, identify the allergens likely to be individually relevant to the child and prescribe appropriate treatment.

Coughing, sneezing, nasal congestion, itching and profuse nasal discharge, and wheezing are nonspecific symptoms characteristic of allergies, respiratory tract infections, and certain other conditions. Children who develop early sensitization to cow’s milk and egg proteins may develop sensitivity to pollen or other inhalant allergens as they grow older. Early sensitization to tree pollen and/or meadow or cereal grass pollen increases their risk of developing allergic rhinitis and predisposes them to bronchial asthma later in life. In children with atopic bronchial asthma and rhinitis, the most common causative allergens are inhalant allergens from house dust, the epidermis and secretions of domestic animals, and plant pollen; food allergens are less common.

This test helps identify the source of allergic symptoms, making it possible to:

• adjust the home environment more quickly (allergen elimination);
• optimise treatment (antihistamines, allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT));
• prevent exacerbations during periods of active flowering or exposure to allergens.

• For the assessment of children with suspected respiratory allergies, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema, or gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea after consuming eggs and milk).
• To determine the treatment strategy for respiratory/food allergies.
• To determine whether allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT) is appropriate.
• To recommend adjustments to the home environment (allergen elimination).
