Description
Trichinella spiralis is a parasite that can enter the human body when eating poorly processed pork (less often game – wild boar, nutria) and cause a disease that manifests itself in muscle pain, muscle swelling, and fever. The body reacts by releasing antibodies, the determination of which in the blood allows confirming the presence of the parasite already in the early stages of the disease.
In case of doubtful results of the first test, it may be necessary to repeat it with an assessment of the increase in antibody titer.
The test is used for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of parasitic diseases.
