Description
Measles is a highly contagious infectious disease caused by viruses from the Paramyxoviridae family. The body reacts to appearance of the measles virus by secreting specific antibodies.
Determination of IgG antibody levels allows the assessment of immunity against the pathogen of measles. The test is used to diagnose measles and to determine the patient's pre- and post-vaccination status.
When and who needs the test?
