Description
Rheumatoid factor is antibodies against a particle of human immunoglobulin (Fc-fragment of IgG), which are formed during inflammatory and autoimmune processes, especially with damage to joints and blood vessels. Diseases are manifested by stiffness of movement in the morning, pain in joints and muscles, cold extremities, skin rashes, fever, and other symptoms.
IgA antibodies are used in combination with other tests to diagnose systemic connective tissue diseases, primarily rheumatoid arthritis and Sjogren's syndrome, to predict joint damage.
In the complex, tests are prescribed for antinuclear antibodies, antibodies to cyclic citrulline-containing peptide, vimentin, C-reactive protein.
