Description
Test package 9.1 includes a range of tests to screen women during pregnancy planning and early pregnancy. It is elaborated to detect TORCH infections that are especially dangerous for the fetus. Such infections include: cytomegalovirus, rubella virus, herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, toxoplasma, parvovirus B19.
The detection of IgM antibodies indicates an acute course of the disease.
If IgG antibodies are isolated, then most likely the body has already suffered this infection in the past, which is a prognostically favorable moment for a pregnant woman, because her immunity extends to the fetus, which means that the likelihood of infection is significantly reduced.
The presence of both types of antibodies to TORCH infection in the early stages is a medical indication for termination of pregnancy, since there is a high chance of miscarriage or the development of congenital malformations in the fetus.
When and who needs the test?
