Description

This package is designed to determine immunity to toxoplasmosis, cytomegalovirus, and rubella (IgG antibodies). It allows you to assess protection after previous infections. It is important during pregnancy planning and pregnancy.

A comprehensive laboratory test elaborated to detect IgG antibodies to three potentially dangerous infections in the blood:

  • toxoplasmosis (Toxoplasma gondii);
  • cytomegalovirus (CMV);
  • rubella (Rubella virus).

IgG antibodies are a marker of a past infection or vaccination (for rubella) and indicate developed immunity. The presence of IgG antibodies usually indicates that the body has already encountered the pathogen and has a certain level of protection.

This test allows:

  • To assess the presence of stable immunity to these infections.
  • To detect a past infection, even if asymptomatic.
  • To reduce concerns about a primary infection with these infections during pregnancy if protective antibodies are detected.

These infections are included in the TORCH group (Toxoplasmosis, Other Infections, Rubella, Cytomegalovirus, Herpes Simplex) because they can have dangerous consequences for fetal development if a woman is infected for the first time during pregnancy. Determining IgG antibody levels is an important step in pregnancy planning and management to assess risks and develop appropriate preventive measures.

When and who needs the test?

  • For women planning a pregnancy – to check for immunity to the most dangerous infections and, if necessary, receive vaccination or prophylaxis.
  • For pregnant women – especially in the first trimester, when the fetal organs are being formed and the risks are greatest.
  • For couples with reproductive difficulties (miscarriages, missed abortions, unsuccessful IVF attempts) – as part of a comprehensive follow-up examination.
  • For women with weakened immune systems – to understand the risk of reactivation of chronic infections.
  • For anyone who wants to check their immunity after a rubella vaccination or a previous infection.
  • For adolescents and young women – as part of a preventive gynecological examination or before planning a future family.

Biological material

  • Venous blood
