Description
Chlamydia pneumoniae is a widespread pathogen that is a common cause of infectious diseases of the respiratory system. Chlamydia pneumoniae is commonly associated with pneumonia and bronchitis. The immune system of an infected person reacts to the penetration of bacteria into the body by the active synthesis of antibodies specific to it. IgM antibodies appear first, followed by IgG antibodies.
Determination of IgM antibodies in the blood makes it possible to confirm the etiological role of the bacterium in the development of the disease.
