2040. Treponema Pallidum, total antibodies
Description
Treponema pallidum is a sexually transmitted pathogen that causes syphilis. The human immune system reacts to the penetration of the spirochete into the body by secreting specific antibodies. Class M immunoglobulins are synthesized first, and class G immunoglobulins begin to be released a little later.
Determination of total antibody levels in the blood makes it possible to confirm the etiological role of the pathogen in the development of the disease.
The test is used for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of syphilis.
The test is convenient due to its informativeness at almost all stages of the disease.
