Description
Total antibodies (IgM + IgG) to Treponema pallidum are a highly sensitive test for the early and general detection of syphilis, regardless of phase. Recommended for initial screening, testing of pregnant women, donors, before surgery, and when STIs are suspected.
When and who needs the test?
- For initial syphilis screening (according to the CDC, ECDC, and WHO).
- For all pregnant women – as a mandatory test in the first trimester.
- For couples planning a pregnancy or undergoing ART programs (IVF, ICSI).
