Description
Chlamydia is a very common disease from the group of urogenital infections. It is provoked by intracellular parasites Chlamydia trachomatis. Human immune cells react to the appearance of chlamydia in the body by secreting specific antibodies. IgM antibodies are the first to be synthesized.
Determination of IgM antibody levels allows the diagnosis of acute chlamydia.
Passing the test along with the determination of antibodies to other pathogens, it is possible to carry out differential diagnosis of chlamydia with other urogenital infections.
When and who needs the test?
- identification of primary infection with chlamydia;
- diagnosis of chlamydia in newborns;
- determining the stage of infection with chlamydia;
